Meanwhile, Dunbar United make the trip into Midlothian to face Penicuik.

In the EoSFL First Division, Preston Athletic venture to Heriot-Watt University while Ormiston Primrose look for three valuable points in their bid to avoid relegation from the EoSFL Second Division when they host Coldstream.

In the Scottish Lowland Football League, Tranent travel south to take on Gala Fairydean Rovers.

Match of the Day

Musselburgh Athletic v Haddington Athletic

East of Scotland Football League Premier Division

Kick-off 2.30pm

BOTH Musselburgh Athletic and Haddington Athletic began 2024 with three points last weekend.

Liam Burns and his side were winners at Dunbar United while the Hi His were victorious against Penicuik Athletic.

Now, at least one side’s 100 per cent record will go when they meet at the Olivebank Arena.

Musselburgh could move up the table with a win and keep themselves on the tails of league leaders Broxburn Athletic.

Victory for Scott Bonar’s men would lift them above their hosts and strengthen their hopes of a strong second half to the season.

AN AWAY trip might be just what Tranent want after back-to-back home defeats.

The Belters began the New Year with a 1-0 loss at home to Berwick Rangers after going down by the same score against Civil Service Strollers on Boxing Day.

Now, they head to Galashiels looking to bounce back and keep their title dreams alive.

They sit 12 points adrift of league leaders East Kilbride but also have the benefit of two games in hand.

Gala Fairydean Rovers sit 12th in the table.

East of Scotland Football League Premier Division

Kick-off 2.30pm

SIXTH in the table on their first season back in the top flight of the EoSFL, Dunbar remain in the pack of teams chasing Broxburn.

Ten wins from their opening 17 games has been a good return following their last day promotion from the First Division last term.

Their hosts have had a rollercoaster season with six wins and seven defeats and a total of 70 goals in their 16 games.

On their day, they can pick up impressive wins and were victorious at New Countess Park in the reverse fixture.

Heriot-Watt University v Preston Athletic

East of Scotland Football League First Division

Kick-off 3pm

NARROW defeats have plagued Preston’s season as they look to mount a promotion challenge.

Thirteen points adrift of St Andrews United means it will take something special for the Pennypit men to gatecrash the top three in the First Division.

The next chance to put an impressive run together takes the Prestonpans side to Heriot-Watt University.

The students are two places below their opponents in the table and could move to within a point if they pick up a win.

Three points for Preston could be enough to see them leapfrog Kirkcaldy & Dysart in the standings.

Ormiston Primrose v Coldstream

East of Scotland Football League Second Division

Kick-off 2pm

BOTTOM of the table, Ormiston Primrose will finally reach the halfway stage of the league season this afternoon.

Only goal difference is keeping them below Newburgh but the five-point gap to Tweedmouth Rangers needs to be bridged if they are to escape the drop zone.

Richie Weir’s men host a Coldstream side who sit in mid-table and with a promotion challenge still firmly within their sights.

Coldstream won the reverse fixture 2-1 and Ormiston know they will need to be near their best to spring a surprise.
