TEENAGE sprint sensation Maria Lyle will not bid to do the double at the World Para Athletics European Championships later today (Sunday).
Lyle was due to line up in Berlin just days after she clinched gold in the T35 100m event.
However, this afternoon she confirmed she was pulling out due to injury.
She tweeted: "Unfortunately I’ve had to pull out of the 200m due to my hamstring. Very gutted as I was feeling excited about running!
"However, I’ve had a great champs and wish the girls in my race the best of luck."
The former Dunbar Grammar School pupil previously won gold in Swansea four years ago and followed that up with first in Italy two years later.
The 18-year-old was among the favourites for the 200m crown as well.
