ARIYA Jutanugarn clinched a nail-biting win at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open at Gullane this evening (Sunday).

The 22-year-old edged out Minjee Lee by a single stroke to win the tournament at Gullane Golf Club.

Both players scored 67 in the opening round on Thursday and matched each other again on the final day with a 66.

However, Jutanugarn’s 65 on Friday proved the difference, despite Lee pulling two shots back on Saturday.

Jutanugarn, of Thailand, won with an overall score of 271, with South Korea’s Jin Young Ko and Haeji Kang finishing five strokes further back for a tie of third place with a score of 276.

Catriona Matthew, of nearby North Berwick, missed the cut after a second round 79 left her six-over par.

Fellow East Lothian hope, Vikki Laing, of Musselburgh, was one shot further back after a first day round of 75 and a second round of 74.

Kelsey Macdonald, of Inverness, was the best placed Scottish hope, finishing tied 59th on three-over par.
