FORMER Open champion Henrik Stenson and US Open runner-up Tommy Fleetwood won't be at Gullane Golf Club this week for the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open.
Having previously confirmed their places, 2016 Open champion Stenton and Englishman Fleetwood have withdrawn from the field, opting instead to rest ahead of The Open Championship at Carnoustie next week.
Fleetwood picked up a virus while at the France Open and decided earlier this week to withdraw from the Gullane event - he competed the last time the Scottish Open was at Gullane in 2015 and recorded a top-10 finish.
And on Saturday, he was among the VIPs on centre court at Wimbledon, where he joined Spanish golf ace Sergio Garcia - the pair, Fleetwood left, are pictured below, by Nigel French/PA Wire.
Swede Stenson has pulled out to due an elbow injury.
He tweeted his best wishes for the tournament, which begins tomorrow (Thursday).

Sad to have to withdraw from #ASIScottishOpen due to elbow problems. Good luck to everyone at Gullane & have great week. Hoping to be fit for Carnoustie.

There is still a world-class field that includes five-time Major winner Phil Mickelson, 2015 champion Rickie Fowler and defending champion Rafa Cabrera Bello, who has his sights set on defending the title he won 12 months ago.
Tickets are available from www.asiscottishopen.com and see this week's Courier - in shops tomorrow - for a 12-page preview.
