BOXING star Josh Taylor has made the weight limit required ahead of his final world title eliminator in Glasgow tomorrow (Saturday).

The Prestonpans ace weighed in at 9st 13lbs and 8oz at the weigh-in at the St Enoch Centre in Glasgow this afternoon.

He will take on Ukrainian former world champion at the SSE Hydro in a final eliminator for the WBC Silver Super Lightweight title.

And Postol, dubbed the Ice Man, also tipped the scales at 9st 13lbs and 8oz.

At the press conference at the Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel yesterday (Thursday), the 27-year-old said: "It is definitely the biggest step up of my career so far.

"I’m 100 per cent confident in my ability, and I’m ready to go on Saturday.

"I can’t wait to go in there and prove a point, and show that I belong among the best in the world.”

See below for Taylor's thoughts on the bout when he spoke to Courier Sport earlier this week.

Postol has only been beaten by Terrance Crawford - widely regarded as one of the top fighters in the world - in a 30-fight career.

The 34-year-old said: "It is great for me to have the chance to get back to the top of the division with a win, and I am determined to become a world champion again.

"I have fought in many big fights, and even though I know it will be tough, I believe I have what it takes to beat Josh Taylor.”

The bout is due to start shortly after 10pm tomorrow and is live on Channel 5.
