A COMMUNITY football day will take place in Musselburgh tomorrow (Sunday).

Hosted by Musselburgh Windsor FC, the event will take place at Pinkie playing fields between 10am and 2pm, with hundreds of youngsters expected to take part.

Coaching will be on hand at various 'zones', with sponsors McDonald's providing qualified coaches to put the youngsters through their paces.

And it is hoped that Scotland legend Sir Kenny Dalglish - knighted in the Queen's Birthday Honours yesterday (Friday) - will be in attendance on the day.

Musselburgh Windsor chairman John Hood said: "The event is open to everybody, so visiting teams are more than welcome to take part in the McDonald's zones.

"The aim of the event is to attract new volunteers, coaches and players to the club, especially players not already involved in football.

"However, ideally it is mainly a fun event to promote the club."

Everyone is welcome to attend.
