A FORMER pupil at Musselburgh's Loretto School has signed his first professional rugby contract.
George Taylor has graduated from the BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy to sign a full-time deal with Edinburgh Rugby for next season.
The 21-year-old former Scotland U18 and U20 internationalist, who last month won the BT Premiership and BT Cup with Melrose, is "over the moon" about signing the deal.
He said: “It’s always been my aspiration to get to the next level in rugby.
“I’m over the moon about signing my first professional contract and I’m excited to see what the future holds for Edinburgh.”
Richard Cockerill, Edinburgh Rugby head coach, added: “George is a bright, young player with a great amount of potential. We’re eager to see how he develops within a strong centre group.”
