TRANENT’S Stefan Krawiec was in record-breaking form once again as East Lothian Swim Team (ELST) held one of its three competitions.
Krawiec claimed three new Scottish short course records in the 11-years’ category – including breaking one of his own records.
The Windygoul Primary School pupil holds 12 national records at that age group.
In the 100m freestyle, his time of 1:01.04 broke the record set 11 years ago by Mark Szaranek, who last year competed for Britain at the World Championships.
While in the 200m individual medley (2:27.36), he bettered the previous best national time for his age group by more than four seconds.
His third record came in the 200m freestyle (2:11.09), where Krawiec, who turned 12 last week, shaved 1.52 seconds off his own previous record time.
Bruce Halloran, ELST head coach, said: “This meet rounded off a superb year for Stefan and we all look forward to watching him continue to develop. This was a successful meet for the swim team, with 10 Scottish National Championships consideration time standards achieved.
“This is the first of our three annual competitions, which are a key part of our competition calendar and of our funding. We are always looking for team sponsors; please get in contact.”
