MUSSELBURGH swimming starlet Christian Buchanan was among the medals at a national championships in Glasgow last week.
Christian, who swims for the Musselburgh Marlins club, took bronze in the 50m backstroke at the Scottish Disability Sport National Junior Championships.
And the 16-year-old’s medal-winning time also saw him set a new personal best at the event, which is for swimmers with a learning disability.
Jack Calder, chairman of Musselburgh Swimming Club, said: “Up against very stiff opposition he performed with tremendous enthusiasm and commitment and was rewarded with winning a well-deserved bronze.
“On present form it augers well for Christian’s selection for the National Paralympics Championships in Manchester next weekend.”
