TRANENT Juniors are looking for a new manager after co-bosses Kenny Rafferty and Darren Smith resigned from their roles today (Monday).

Their departure comes 48 hours after a third round Scottish Junior Cup defeat to Jeanfield Swifts at Foresters Park.

The pair guided the Belters to an historic cup double last season as they lifted the Fife & Lothians Cup and the East of Scotland Cup.

The club confirmed that the co-bosses had resigned in a statement on Facebook.

It reads: "It is with regret that we announce the resignation of both Kenny Rafferty & Darren Smith as managers of the club.

"The club would like to thank them for their huge contribution in bringing home both cups last year which was a truly incredible achievement, not forgetting Darren’s contribution as a massive part of the playing staff over the past two-and-a-half years."

And fans have wished the duo well, with ex-boss Hamish Colgan writing: "I think Daz and Raff are class managers and top blokes we will sorely miss them at this club.

"Good luck lads and thanks for all you have done for the club."

Meanwhile, Tracey Redpath said: "Thanks for the memories Kenny & Daz", and George Rutherford added: "All the best to them both did Tranent Juniors proud last season."

The club's search for a new manager, or managerial team, will now begin.
