North Berwick 90
Dunbar 0
NORTH Berwick dished out a 14-try derby destruction of winless Dunbar at Recreation Park on Saturday.
Ben Moffat led the way with four tries, while there were also hat-tricks for both Charlie Elms and Liam West.
Four more players – Roan Frostwick, Gareth Walker, Alex Williams and Chris Lekkas – helped themselves to a try, with 10 conversions sealing the massive win.
North Berwick were dominant throughout and led 43-0 at the interval.
The onslaught continued after the break, with the hosts quickly through the half-century mark against a Dunbar side struggling for players and form.
There were a barrage of tries after the break as North Berwick neared three figures.
Victory was their fifth in a row over their county neighbours, a run that stretches back to March 2015 and takes the Recreation Park club to within a point of East 1 leaders Hawick Harlequins.
Dunbar, meanwhile, are rooted to the foot of the table, with just two points from their opening five matches.
Mark Coull, Dunbar head coach, reflected on a “tough game”, while looking ahead to their home clash with Duns on Saturday
He told Courier Sport: “With the exception of the North Berwick game we have been in [each] game and even leading in most of them.
“We are really keen to perform for the full 80 minutes.”
Second plays third as North Berwick visit Forrester on Saturday.
