NORTH Berwick rugby star Chris Dean will start for Edinburgh Rugby in their Guinness Pro14 opener with Cardiff Blues tomorrow (Friday).
Dean has been picked to start at outside centre by the club's new head coach Richard Cockerill for the game at Cardiff Arms Park.
None of the four other players with East Lothian connections - Tom Brown, Lewis Carmichael, Callum Hunter-Hill or Ally Miller - have made the 23-man squad.
Dean, 23, will make his 43rd appearance for the club, and partners Solomoni 'Junior' Rasolea in midfield, while Magnus Bradbury captains the side - which includes two debutants - from number eight.
