HADDINGTON footballer Danny Handling has joined SPFL Championship outfit Dumbarton.

The 23-year-old has made the move west after six years among the first team squad at Easter Road, where he made more than 60 appearances.

Handling, a former Knox Academy pupil, struggled for regular first team action, and spent spells on loan at Berwick Rangers and latterly Raith Rovers, where he ended last season.

Dumbarton announced the county ace's signing on their website today (Friday).

They said: "Attacking midfielder Danny Handling has today arrived at Dumbarton from Hibernian, having left the Easter Road outfit.

"He will recognise many of his new colleagues at Dumbarton, with Craig Barr, Mark Stewart and Chris Johnston also having been at Stark's Park last season."

Handling may be available to make his debut in the Betfred Cup against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park tomorrow.
