TRANENT Juniors reached a second cup final in a week with a 5-4 penalty shoot-out win over county rivals Musselburgh Athletic yesterday evening (Wednesday).
The pair met in the last four of the Fife & Lothians Cup at Olive Bank, and Michael Moffat put the home side ahead with 16 minutes played.
The Belters, finalists in the East of Scotland Cup, hit back less than a minute later, though, as Kenny Fisher fired home.
The two teams were locked at 1-1 at the break, but Tranent took a step towards the final when Kayne Paterson put them in front on the hour as he forced the ball past Kieron Renton in the Burgh goal from a tight angle.
Burgh, though, took the game to a shoot-out as Matti King levelled just four minutes from time.
And in the shoot-out, all the spot-kick takers had found the back of the net, before a Musselburgh miss, which allowed the Belters to book their place in a second cup final.
And co-manager Darren Smith, a former Burgh player, praised his side.

A date for the final is still to be confirmed, but the Belters will face the winners the tie between Bo'ness United and Broxburn Athletic.
