HADDINGTON boxer Iain Trotter will return to the ring for his third professional bout in the summer.

The middleweight will fight at Meadowbank Arena in Edinburgh on June 3 as he hopes to record a third successive professional victory.

Trotter’s most recent appearance was at the same venue, when he demolished Sandor Jozsa inside one round on the undercard of Josh Taylor’s Commonwealth super lightweight title defence.

The former Knox Academy pupil confirmed his next bout on social media.

He said: “Very proud and excited to announce I’ll be fighting on an action-packed night of boxing on Saturday, June 3, at the Meadowbank Arena.”

The 23-year-old was in confident mood ahead of the fight.
He said: “I will be making it three wins from three and already cannot wait to get back in there.”

During his fight with Jozsa, which was stopped after two minutes and 53 seconds of the opening round, Trotter was cheered on by a big Haddington support, including family and friends.

He hopes to see another big local contingent for his bout on June 3, against an as-yet-unnamed opponent.

He added: “Your support has been absolutely incredible and I hope you can continue to get behind me as we look to take another step forward on this journey.”

Tickets for the big night are priced at £40, and can be bought by contacting Trotter by email at iain.trotter1993@gmail.com, phoning him on 07446 448144 or through Facebook.
