SEVEN East Lothian rugby stars fell to feat at the hands of English opposition at the weekend.

Megan Gaffney was first in action as she won her 24th cap for Scotland Women, but was unable to prevent a 64-0 for the world champions at the Twickenham Stoop.

Kay Wilson led the way with seven of the hosts' 12 tries, as Scotland Women fell to a third defeat of the championship.

There was further disappointment in south-west London, as Huw Jones was part of Scotland's 61-21 defeat in the Calcutta Cup match.

The county-born centre scored two of Scotland's three tries, but was caught out defensively as opposite number Jonathan Joseph scored three of the hosts' seven tries.

Also on Saturday, Callum Hunter-Hill, from Gullane, captained a Scotland U20 side that lost 33-5 to their Auld Enemy counterparts in Northampton.

He was joined in the starting line-up by Cameron Hutchison, from North Berwick, while ex-Loretto School pupil Craig Pringle came off the bench.

And a disappointing weekend was rounded off by defeat for a pair of East Lothian starlets in U18 action.

North Berwick duo Rory Darge and Roan Frostwick turned out for the U18s as they were beaten 31-17 by England U18 in Preston.

The men's, women's and U20 sides now prepare to welcome Italy, with the U20 and women's matches at Broadwood tomorrow (Friday).
