THE county’s sports clubs have given their support to a national campaign by wearing rainbow-coloured laces on their boots.
The Rainbow Laces campaign aims to tackle homophobia in sport and raise awareness of issues faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender players and fans.
Haddington RFC were the latest to back the campaign during their game with Dalziel on Saturday.
They followed in the footsteps of Preston Lodge and North Berwick, who both sported the rainbow laces in their boots last month.
The county’s football clubs have also backed the campaign, with Haddington Athletic sporting their specially-designed laces during their win over Dalkeith Thistle on Saturday.
LGBT-rights charity Stonewall are behind the campaign, and for more information on rainbow laces, or to buy a pair, visit stonewall.org.uk
