A PAIR of county rugby stars have been included in the Scotland 7s squad for the latest rounds of the HSBC World Series.

Ally Miller, from Longniddry, will make his Scotland 7s debut after eye-catching appearances during a loan spell at London Scottish this season.

Miller is joined in the squad by once-capped Scotland wing Tom Brown, who grew up in North Berwick.

Brown, 26, has previously represented the 7s side in two world series events, but not since 2011.

The pair's inclusions are two of five changes to the squad for the latest rounds of the series, in Las Vegas and Vancouver.

Calum MacRae, Scotland 7s head coach, said: “Even with the challenges to the squad, Sean (Kennedy, Edinburgh Rugby scrum-half) and Tom (Brown) are experienced players coming in who will add [to] our team and have been in the Sevens environment before.

“Ally Miller is a bright prospect and like others before him, will use the Sevens programme as a pathway to accelerate his development for his back row position in 15s.

"He is another exciting talent who will gain a huge amount from the challenging World Series competition. "

The Las Vegas series, where Scotland will face Australia, Fiji and Japan in the pool stages, takes place next weekend (March 4/5).
