MUSSELBURGH-born Scotland centre Huw Jones has secured a return to the country of his birth, after signing for Glasgow Warriors.

The 23-year-old, who has won four caps since his debut last summer, will join the Scotstoun outfit from South African side Stormers, but not until the end of this year's Super Rugby campaign.

On his move, Jones said: "It felt like the time was right to join Glasgow.

"Playing for Scotland, it makes a lot of sense to be playing in Scotland.

"Glasgow are doing very well this year and look like they could continue to do well over the next couple of years."

Jones spent his formative years in Musselburgh, before a move south of the border, where he was educated at Millfield School in Somerset.

A gap year to South Africa sparked his rugby career in 2012, after he decided to stay and study at the University of Cape Town, where he won the Varsity Cup in 2014 - scoring in the final.

He was then selected for Western Province, before being called up for the Stormers last year, where his excellent form saw him catch the eye of Vern Cotter.

Jones played an hour for Scotland against Ireland on Saturday, winning his fourth cap, and is expected to be involved against France in Paris this weekend.
