MUSSELBURGH'S Gary Anderson launched the defence of his PDC World Darts Championship title with a straightforward win yesterday (Thursday).
The two-time defending champion beat Stoke's Mark Frost 3-0 at Alexandra Palace to advance to round two.
Anderson, aiming to win the trophy for the third year in a row, took little over half an hour to see off his unseeded challenger in London.
The 45-year-old was delighted, and said: "Mark's a cracking player and he never showed how he can play tonight but I scraped through and did the job I came to do."
He will now meet the winner of the match between John Henderson and Andrew Gilding in round two next Friday (December 23).
