TWO former champions are among those competing in this year's New Year Sprint.
Jazmine Tomlinson, who made history by becoming the race's first female winner in its 147-year history, returns to defend her crown.
She is joined by Cameron Tindle, victorious in 2015, in the heats for the race, which takes place at Musselburgh Racecourse on New Year's Day.
There are 12 heats, with winners and the eight fastest losers advancing to the cross-ties, or semi-finals, which also take place on January 1.
The heats, at Meadowmill Sports Centre, will take place on December 30.
The winner of the New Year Sprint will collect a prize of £4,000.
