COUNTY rugby ace Callum Hunter-Hill could make his competitive debut Glasgow Warriors in Italy tomorrow (Saturday).

The Scotland U20 cap, who spent his formative years playing at North Berwick RFC, has been named on the bench to play Zebre in Parma tomorrow.

The 19-year-old played in a pre-season friendly against Canada A, but if he maeks it off the bench, will make his competitive bow if he is called upon.

The Warriors have a number of injuries in the second row, with Scotland lock Tim Swinson, USA Cap Greg Peterson and Namibian international Tjiuee Uanivi all out injured.

Hunter-Hill's Scotland U20 colleague Scott Cummings is another who misses out through injury, meaning the county star will back up converted back-row Rob Harley, and Ayr's Rob McAlpine, who has been drafted in.

Gregor Townsend, Glasgow Warriors head coach, said: “Callum Hunter-Hill impressed us with his workrate during pre-season against Harlequins, and now has an opportunity to make an impact from the bench in a Guinness Pro12 game."
