OLYMPIC silver medallist Dan Wallace was among the Team GB athletes at a homecoming event in Edinburgh last week.

Wallace, who won silver as part of the Great Britain team in the 4x200 freestyle in Rio, was one of about 50 Scottish athletes who attended the special ceremony last Wednesday.

They were cheered by fans as they arrived at Oriam, the new sports performance centre at Heriot-Watt University.

A public celebration then followed in the Capital's Festival Square.

Later in the evening, the North Berwick ace was then among the athletes who attended the Team Scotland Scottish Sports Awards at the EICC.

He even found time for a selfie with the team from Tranent and District Community Sports Hub, who were nominated for an award.

The county's other Olympian, Catriona Matthew, was unable to attend, as were the four Paralympians, runner Maria Lyle, powerlifter Micky Yule, swimmer Stephen Clegg and footballer David Porcher.
