HADDINGTON's Hibernian ace Danny Handling admits it was "a dream come true" as the Capital club won the Scottish Cup in dramatic fashion on Saturday.

Handling, a former Knox Academy pupil, was not in the squad for Saturday's dramatic final win over Rangers at Hampden.

The 22-year-old was, though, at the national stadium with other members of the Hibees squad, as they celebrated their first Scottish Cup win in 114 years.

He told Courier Sport: "It's a dream come true.

"To say that now we've won the Scottish Cup after 114 years, it's an honour to be a part of."

He was part of the club's official parade in Leith on Sunday, and tweeted: "Here's to you Lewis Stevenson" in tribute to his Hibs colleague.

Handling and fellow Hibs striker Martin Boyle were among those to continue the celebrations into Monday.

When he spoke to Courier Sport on Tuesday afternoon, he said: "As you can imagine, it's been a riot.

"Me and Boyler [Martin Boyle] have just finished a three-day bender!."

The striker has missed much of the season with after damaging knee ligaments in pre-season, but admits he is loving his time at the Easter Road club.

Handling added: "I've got two years left on my contract and when occasions like Saturday happen, the whole club as a family becomes closer and you don't want to be anywhere else.

"We'll see what happens but I'm happy at Hibs.

After watching his team mates lift the famous trophy at Hampden on Saturday, the county ace has turned his attentions to next season.

He added: "Next season I want to kick on and start playing again, but as I said, we'll see what happens.

"I'm enjoying these few days as a Scottish Cup winner and looking forward to some time off."
