COUNTY star Dan Wallace will contest a final at the European Aquatics Championships in London later today (Wednesday).

Wallace, from North Berwick, booked his place in the 200m individual medley final with a good swim in his semi-final last night.

The 23-year-old's time of 2.00.74 was good enough for fourth place, thanks to a strong breaststroke leg.

He starts in lane one for this evening's final, while another Brit, Max Litchfield is in lane eight.

Greece's Andreas Vazios will be among the favourites as he qualified fastest from the semi-finals.

Wallace, meanwhile – a gold medallist at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, is competing at the championships as he continues his preparation for the Rio Olympics later this year.

Last month, Wallace was confirmed among the Team GB swimming squad that will compete in Brazil.

Wallace will be in action at about 7.30pm tonight, and for more, search #London2016 on Twitter.
