A COMMUNITY rugby day will take place in North Berwick this weekend.

The club is hosting the event to celebrate the successes of the home-grown talents, many of whom have won international honours having earned their stripes at North Berwick RFC>

The afternoon will get under way at 2pm, with the P7 team playing on the main pitch at Recreation Park.

They will then provide a guard of honour for the 1st XV, who round off their season with a league fixture against Murrayfield Wanderers at 3pm.

After that match has finished, there will then be a presentation to the high school under-18s side following their national plate win at BT Murrayfield recently.

Among the others to attend will be Lewis Carmichael (Edinburgh Rugby and Scotland U20), Megan Gaffney (Scotland Women), Finlay Hutchison (Scotland Rugby League in European Championships), Calum Hunter-Hill, Scott Burnside (both Scotland U20), Andrew Grant-Suttie (Scotland U19), Cameron Hutchison (Scotland U18 captain) and Scotland under-16s trio Roan Frostwick, Rory Darge and Gregor Mitchell.

Also present will be Sharon Brodie, who will receive a presentation after she became the first women's internationalist to score a try at the national stadium.

Iain Dove, club president, hopes to see a big turnout, and all are welcome.

Refreshments and food will be available.
