North Berwick rugby ace Chris Dean lead Edinburgh Rugby to glory at the Melrose 7s on Saturday.
Dean, a Scotland 7s cap, captained a side that included Scotland wing Damien Hoyland and Tonga international Will Helu to victory.
The experienced side, largely made up of fringe players from Alan Solomons' first-team squad, saw off GHA 36-14 in the second round, having been given a first-round bye.
Edinburgh then beat Heriot's 22-0 to set up a last four clash with the home side.
And after a closely-fought match, the Capital club scraped into the final by just two points.
That meant a meeting with Jed-Forest, who had beaten Selkirk, Belgium and Edinburgh Accies, and the Capital club ran out convincing 29-19 winners.
Roddy Grant, the club's former back-row, was team manager for the day, and he was delighted to see Edinburgh lift the Ladies Cup on their first visit to the prestigious event.
Grant said: "It's such a special feeling.
"Throughout the tournament the guys showed so much heart and desire, it fills me with such pride.
"The scoreline - 29-19 - is probably a bit flattering for us as it was a really tight game but I’m just so proud.
“They did everything I asked of them, everyone played their hearts out and they’re champions.”
And skipper for the day Dean took to social media to express his delight.
The ex-North Berwick man posted on Instagram, alongside a picture of him lifting the trophy, and said: "What a day, great team and couldn't be happier!"
