THE winter weather played havoc with the weekend's sporting card again at the weekend.

All the county's junior football sides were due to be away from home, and not one of their matches survived the freezing conditions overnight on Friday.

It was a similar story for Preston Athletic, whose trip to Gala Fairydean was postponed, with the Borderers' ground covered in snow on Saturday morning,

Ormiston were due to travel to Tynecastle in East of Scotland League action on Saturday, but that also fell foul of the weather.

Almost all of the rugby due to take place was also postponed on Saturday.

Musselburgh and Preston Lodge were due to be in BT Cup action against Selkirk and Jed-Forest, but both games were postponed due to frozen pitches.

Haddington enjoyed a week off, with no game scheduled until their trip to Orkney next Saturday (February 13).

Unbeaten North Berwick were due to play Linlithgow in East Division 1, but that match was also among those postponed.

Ross High's match with Broughton was also victim of the weather, postponed on Saturday morning with the Capital side's pitch frozen.

Dunbar, though, did see action, as they recorded a bonus point victory over Hawick Harlequins (24-5).

The county sides will hope for better luck as they return to action this weekend.
