PRESTON Athletic recorded a first win under new manager Craig Nisbet on Saturday, in a mixed weekend for the county's sports teams.
The Pennypit outfit were without a win in the Lowland League since October, but goals from Ross Cowan and Jordi Belope saw Nisbet's side claim a much-needed victory at Selkirk.
Ormiston, meanwhile, fell to a 2-1 home loss to Coldstream at Recreation Park in the East of Scotland League.
It was a disappointing weekend for East Lothian's junior sides too, as only Tranent Juniors registered any points, after the South Division leaders drew 2-2 at Pumpherston.
Musselburgh Athletic were beaten 3-0 in Superleague action at St Andrews United, while Haddington Athletic fell to a 2-0 loss at home to Bathgate Thistle.
Dunbar United netted three times on their trip to West Calder, but the hosts' half dozen ensured Geoff Jones' side returned empty-handed.
Meanwhile, there was a similar story for the county rugby clubs, with only Haddington and unbeaten North Berwick recording wins.
The Reds saw off Perthshire 17-14 to remain in promotion contention in National 2, while East 1 title-chasing North Berwick secured a bonus point win over Hawick Harlequins in the Borders.
Musselburgh fell to a 34-10 loss at Jed-Forest, Preston Lodge were beaten at home by Kirkcaldy (29-24), Dunbar went down at Forrester 29-20 and Ross High lost 16-15 at Portobello.
