I was interested to read the correspondence about North Berwick Harbour toilets; however, this is not the only problem area in town.

Visitors arrive in their thousands by train to North Berwick and are taken aback at the lack of facilities in or near the station. East Lothian Council seem to be content that they operate prize-winning toilets in the centre of the town, while ignoring the lack of facilities elsewhere, and the rail companies seem to take the view that there are toilets on the trains.

North Berwick is a popular tourist resort and, given the problems with parking, I am happy to welcome travellers by train but with the downgrading of the tourist office making information harder to find (despite my best efforts) and the lack of decent facilities, East Lothian Council should be aware that tourists may seek alternative destinations for their trips to the seaside if the aforementioned is not dealt with.
