I want to thank the cancer unit in the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, in particular all the staff in L7.
My daughter Carol had a brain tumour diagnosed on Christmas Eve last year.
She was operated on a few days later and got home after a while, but unfortunately the prognosis was not too good and she was advised to have radio treatment, 30 visits to L7 Monday to Friday.
I have been humbled not only by the other cancer sufferers we met but the lovely young nurses that put Carol through her treatment; they were amazing.
Nothing was too much and their attitude and smiles kept everyone happy – now that cannot be easy.
Even me as her dad was treated with the greatest respect by all.
Carol has now finished her treatment and in a couple of weeks will have chemo.
I also have to mention Maggie’s. They are all volunteers but the support they give to all is a credit to them.
Thank you to all in our NHS.
