Man made offensive remarks towards partner in heated argument
|
A COUNTY resident made offensive remarks towards his partner during a heated argument at the couple’s home last year. Jamie Stevenson shouted, swore and acted in an aggressive manner towards the woman at the property on Caesar Road in Tranent. Stevenson, 38, also made offensive remarks and threw household items about the home, leading concerned neighbours to call in the police on December 9 last year. Stevenson was arrested and charged, though his partner did not wish to engage with the police. Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard that Stevenson had previous convictions for domestic offending and he had pleaded guilty to the offence last December. Sentence had been deferred twice for social work reports to be carried out and he was due to be sentenced at the Capital court last week. But the sheriff in charge of the case was unavailable and sentence was again deferred to later this month.
