SIXTH year pupils at Ross High School were praised for their efforts after completing the second stage of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
The 21 students were presented with their silver award for taking part in a service, skill and a sport for six months or more, and for completing an assessed expedition.
Many of the teenagers took on first aid training for their service as well as learning or improving a sport and skill of their choice. Further training was given for their expedition which culminated in three days of walking and canoeing and two nights of camping.
The group completed a practice walk in the Lammermuir Hills from Lauder to Abbey St Bathans, then chose to trek from Lauder to Stenton for the real challenge, and the canoeists completed a practice expedition on Loch Tay and their assessed expedition along the Union Canal.
