A 26-YEAR-OLD man was taken to hospital after being cut free from a car near Tranent yesterday evening (Monday).
Emergency services were called out shortly after 6.35pm following reports of a one-car accident on Ormiston Road, near Carlaverock Farm.
Firefighters from Tranent were joined by colleagues from Musselburgh and used hydraulic cutting gear to take the roof off the car and release the man who was trapped inside the black Ford Fiesta.
The man, who was the passenger in the car, was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, with emergency services standing down at about 7.10pm.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said the passenger was taken to hospital with what were believed to be “minor injuries”, with the driver uninjured.
