VIDEO footage of youths running from the scene after an attack on a house on Hallowe'en has gone viral on social media.

Relatives of the woman who lives in the house on Carlaverock Avenue, Tranent, shared the footage which captures a large group of youths running down the street, gesturing at the property.

Her window was smashed during the incident, which her daughter said had been the second time it had been broken in 18 months.

East Lothian Courier:

Police are understood to be investigating the incident which happened on Tuesday evening at 6.45pm.

The videos have been watched nearly 40,000 times on social media.

The victim's family urged people to keep sharing the CCTV footage, which they also shared with the Courier, in a bid to identify the culprits.

Daughter Lauren Blyth posted the footage on Tranent Folks thanking everyone for their support.

She said: "On behalf of my mum and family, she was very overwhelmed to see the community giving her their support so THANK YOU!!"
