TRANENT fundraiser David Martin received a surprise award from Tranent Rotary Club for all his work in the community.
Mr Martin was invited to an evening with the Rotarty club along with his wife Mhairi as special guests.
And he was stunned when it was revealed he was actually there to be awarded the Rotary Community Service Award.
The Radio Saltire host, who works to support local causes and individuals, was clearly moved and was humble about the award.
He said: “It is the community itself that achieved all.”
A spokesperson for the club said: “The club was delighted to be able to present this very select award to David, which is well deserved.”
The meeting of the club welcomed Mark Heritage, general manager of East Coast Buses, as its special guest at the evening last Tuesday.
Mr Heritage talked about the formation of the company, its past and its vision for the future.
Mr Heritage said he would be happy to talk to any group who wants to learn more about East Coast Buses.
To invite him to a meeting, contact the bus company on 0131 554 4494.
