TRANENT Rotary Club welcomed a visit by Millie Gray, an octogenarian author, and professional story teller at their meeting last month.

Millie, who has the honour of being “Arts Champion for Older People in Scotland” was sharp, witty and spellbinding, narrating her times growing up in Leith and stories imparted to her by her husband, who was a senior police officer with many a tale to tell her, which she loves to let others hear.

Mille is now writing her fifth book and began writing at the age of seventy five.

President Peter Strachan welcomed Millie and delighted in introducing her to two of her biggest fans, his mother and sister. A wonderful entertaining evening was held by the Rotarians, their wives and partners of the Tranent club.
