A SECOND primary school affected by a severe sickness bug has reported almost all children are now back at school.
More than 40 children and four staff were absent from St Martin’s Primary School in Tranent last Thursday.
Parents were given letters from East Lothian Council issuing NHS Lothian advice on what to do if their child was sick.
On Tuesday, following the Bank Holiday weekend, a spokeswoman for East Lothian Council confirmed the situation was improving.
She said that three children called in sick that day, although parents said their symptoms were mild and may not have been related to the norovirus, with a further three youngsters sent home as a precautionary measure.
Earlier this month, more than 100 children from Cockenzie Primary School were impacted by an outbreak of the norovirus, also known as the winter vomiting bug.
