Schools across the county are celebrating children's author Roald Dahl's 100th birthday today.
Colourful parties are being thrown in classrooms and libraries.
Youngsters, and some staff, have joined in the fun by dressing up as some of the much-loved author's favourite character, including the BFG and Matilda.
The author, who died in 1990, has inspired generations with his characters.
And in East Lothian there is a special connection after the county featured in the movie The BFG which was released over the summer.
Parts of the A1 were closed overnight to allow the production team to film a scene with the main character stepping over it.
