POLICE have appealed for witnesses to a race hate incident which happened in Musselburgh town centre last month.

Police in East Lothian are hunting a woman and two men who shouted racist abuse at a man as he walked through Kerr’s Wynd, on the night of Tuesday, August 11.

The incident happened between 8.15pm and 8.45pm as the 37-year-old victim was walking from the High Street through the vennel towards Kerr’s Wynd.

Police said the woman and her two male companions were all in their mid forties.

The woman was described as white with shoulder length blonde hair and was wearing a dark dress and jacket.

Both men were described as white, skinny with short dark hair. One wore a zipped up black top, the other had on dark clothing.

Police this week launched an appeal for anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward and contact Police Scotland on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
