A PUBLIC event to mark the formation of East Lothian’s Pride group is being held next month.
The group, formed over a month ago, aims to raise awareness of issues affecting the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
John Johnston, chairman, was hoping for a big turnout at the event, on September 19, 2-6pm.
He said: “We are hoping for maybe 40 people to turn up. If that number is higher than that then everything is good.” The event aims to see a firm direction created for the group and outline what the LGBT community would like to see the group achieve in the county.
The meet, eat and greet event is being held in the Thorntree Inn, on Cockenzie High Street, with a pub quiz also being lined up. All are welcome to attend.
Mr Johnston added: “East Lothian Council have been brilliant. They are supporting us and helping us.”
