Leuchie House is set to benefit from another mammoth donation.

Charlotte Weatherall will donate her fundraising total, which currently stands just shy of £3,500, to the North Berwick charity, after she completed an Ironman in Bolton, Lancashire, over the weekend.

Despite her pre-race nerves, Charlotte completed the Ironman, which saw her swim 2.4 miles, cycle 112 and then complete a marathon.

Earlier this year, Leuchie House was chosen by the Capital’s Balmoral Hotel to be its charity for the year, and Charlotte explained how this partnership saw her raise money for Leuchie.

“I chose them as I work for Rocco Forte Hotels and it is our partner charity for The Balmoral, where I worked until January,” she said.

“I have been genuinely inspired by the work Leuchie’s CEO, Mairi O’Keefe and her team does and I want to show my support too.

“The training was the toughest part. Hospitality is a social business and to fit in the swims, run and cycles I was getting up most mornings at 5am and my weekends were taken up with long bike rides and runs.” Se was praised by Mairi O’Keefe, who said: “Charlotte’s efforts are absolutely staggering.

“Despite such a demanding job and frequent travelling, she manages to fit in the training to compete at such a high level in order to help make life better for the guests and their families who rely on Leuchie for respite breaks.” Charlotte finished the Ironman in 15h54m.
