A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act after police recovered a quantity of heroin worth about £2,000 from an address in East Linton yesterday (Monday).

A quantity of amphetamine and drugs paraphernalia were also recovered from the address on Hardie Terrace.

Chief Inspector Matt Paden, Local Area Commander for East Lothian said: “Drugs are a blight on our communities and we continue to gather intelligence from the public to identify those involved in drug crime and bring them to justice.

“The substances seized yesterday were intended for local distribution and I am delighted that they are now off our streets before they can do untold harm.”
