Musselburgh Athletic booked their place in the final of the Scottish Junior Cup thanks to a goal from substitute Lewis Turner at Olive Bank this afternoon - setting up a chance for revenge against the team that beat them the last time they reached the final in 2011.

The county side went into the match holding a 3-2 aggregate lead over Linlithgow Rose from last week's first leg, and extended that when prolific striker Jordyn Sheerin struck early on.

The Musselburgh frontman netted his 35th goal of the season inside the opening 10 minutes, taking advantage of a mistake by the visitors, to settle Burgh nerves.

They dominated the rest of the first period, with man of the match Jackie Myles and Graeme Beveridge both seeing chances beaten away by Rose goalkeeper Scott Christie.

After the break, it was a different story, as the West Lothian club dominated, and they hit Burgh with a quickfire brace.

First, a flighted ball into the penalty area wasn't dealt with by the home side, and that allowed Linlithgow to scramble the ball over the line past Ally Adams.

Then, just moments later as the visitors flooded forward, the hand of Robert Wilson prevented the ball going into the box and Rose were awarded a penalty.

Tommy Coyne stepped up, slammed the spot kick past Adams and the match was once more in the balance.

However, with just over 20 minutes remaining, Burgh hit the decisive blow and booked their place in their second final in five years, thanks largely to that man Sheerin.

Good work from the talismanic striker saw the ball worked to Lewis Turner, off the bench early in the second half, and he slid a shot past the Linlithgow goalkeeper to send Olive Bank delirious.

Burgh sat deeper as the match wore on, but their visitors were unable to break them down, and after more than five minutes stoppage time, referee David Munro signalled full-time, and sealed Burgh's place in the final.

There they will play West Region giants Auchinleck Talbot, winners over defending champions Hurlford United in the other semi-final.

The last time Burgh reached the final in 2011, Auchinleck were again the opposition and prevailed 2-1 after extra tiime. Burgh will be out to even the score this time around.
