A SCHOOLGIRL diagnosed with terminal cancer earlier this month is rapidly closing in on her fundraising goal.
Rebecca Dalgleish, from Kingston, near North Berwick, set out to raise £5,000 for Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS).
However, the overwhelming generosity of friends, family and strangers has seen the 17-year-old decide to double the fundraising target to £10,000.
Her mum, Pam, told the Courier: “We have had such a good response from the Courier article - it has been phenomenal!” Currently, the fundraising total sits at £4,622.54 - already almost halfway to the new milestone.
And the S6 North Berwick High School pupil has set up a blog and made a bucket list - ranging from making caramel shortbread to meeting and having a professional photoshoot with the band McFly - in a bid to do as many things as she can.
Pam added: “We’ve already managed to tick some off!” To read Rebecca’s blog go to beccadalgleish.wordpress.com or to make a donation visit www.justgiving.com/Rebecca-Dalgleish Anyone who can assist in helping some of Rebecca's bucket list dreams come true is asked to contact the Courier on 01620 822451 or by email at editorial@eastlothiancourier.com
