A 28-YEAR-old woman has been arrested after a video showing unused ballot papers and forms from East Lothian's referendum count appeared on Facebook.
The Courier revealed last week that the documents had appeared on a video posted on Facebook.
A woman's voice could be heard claiming they had been handed to her at a rally after being found dumped.
However, East Lothian Council called in the police after insisting they had been taken from a secure storage area.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We arrested a 28-year-old woman on Monday following the theft of referendum materials in East Lothian.
"Enquiries are ongoing at this stage and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
