FORTY-two reports of rape were made to police across East Lothian between April 2013 and May this year.
The figures, revealed by the BBC, show West Fife as the highest area for rapes being reported, with 102 over the 14-month period.
A total of 1,982 rapes were reported to Police Scotland across the country between April 2013 and May 2014.
The highest number in East Lothian for a single month came in December 2013, when eight rapes were reported.
