Found guilty of child porn offences

A WHITECRAIG man found guilty of taking, or permitting to be taken, indecent photographs of children will be sentenced for the offence in September.

David Austin, 44, of Whitecraig Crescent, took or permitted to be taken or made, indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children between January 16, 2007 and August 24, 2007, both dates inclusive, at his home address or elsewhere.

Austin had been found guilty of the charge by a jury during a trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on December 16, and sentence had been deferred.

He appeared at the High Court in Glasgow last Thursday, and the case was further adjourned for background reports to be made available. Austin was remanded in custody, and will return to the High Court in Glasgow on September 1 for sentencing.
