A £1million contract to build seven new business units in Prestonpans is expected to start in February after East Lothian Council received a cash boost from the European Union.
The investment in new units at Mid Road Industrial Estate is being partially funded with a £350,000 grant from the European Regional Structural Funds.
It is hoped the new units will be available for businesses to move into in August next year and details of how to apply for a lease are expected to go on the council website next month.
Councillor John McMillan, cabinet spokesman for economic development and tourism, said: “I am sure there will be high demand for these new units.”
