TWO singers are celebrating after they competed in the final of a major talent show, Edinburgh's Got Talent.
Prestonpans shop worker Kelly Mackie wowed the judges with a powerful performance of the Irene Cara classic 'Out Here On My Own', which landed the former Preston Lodge pupil a very creditable fourth place.
The 26-year-old singer/songwriter said: "I'd actually forgotten all about entering so to get the call to appear in the final was just amazing.
"It was an unbelieveable experience to appear in front of 700 people and I was really chuffed to finish in fourth place.
"It was nerve-wracking, but once the lights went up I was loving it".
Meanwhile, Port Seton vocalist Jackie Nisbet, 22, finished in eighth position after giving the crowd, who packed themselves into Edinburgh's Assembly Rooms, a poignant version of the Faith Hill song 'There You'll Be'.
And although the office worker failed to scoop the top prize, she was delighted to perform in front of the five-strong judging panel who included Forth One presenter Boogie.
Jackie dedicated her poignant performance of the song, which featured in Oscar-winning movie, Pearl Harbour, to her recently deceased grandmother.
Eight of the final 10, including Kelly and Jackie, are appearing at the Edinburgh's Got Talent showcase at the Churchill Theatre, Morningside, Edinburgh, in March 2010.
